WAEC GCE Registration 2026 Info

Registration for the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026 First Series, will be conducted online. After obtaining the Registration PIN, candidates should complete their registration at www.waeconline.org.ng. The process includes biometric capture for verification at examination centres.

WAEC past questions (objective and theory) with answers are now available online. As this is the first CBT-based WASSCE, candidates are advised to prepare using the Myschool WAEC CBT software or the Myschool WAEC CBT Mobile app to become familiar with the CBT environment.

Normal registration ends on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Walk-in registration begins on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Registration PINs can be purchased at any WAEC office until the end of the examination.

The examination will be conducted using Computer-Based Testing (CBT). Objective papers will be fully CBT, while essay and practical papers will be hybrid, with questions displayed on screen and answers written in answer booklets. Candidates are advised to prepare using the Myschool WAEC CBT software or the Myschool WAEC CBT Mobile app to become familiar with the CBT environment and practice past questions.

An online mock examination will be organized for registered candidates. Details will be communicated via SMS, email, and WAEC social media platforms. The registration fee is non-refundable, and candidates should regularly check the website for the examination timetable.

Entries must include passport photographs captured with a digital camera (Microsoft HD 3000 specification). Photos must be clear, black & white or colour, JPEG format only, 275 × 314 pixels at 72 dpi, with a contrasting background and no obstructions. Poor or defaced photographs will invalidate entries. Candidates should study the examination regulations and syllabuses downloadable from the WAEC website using the Registration PIN.

Candidates must attend examinations in mufti; uniforms, arms, smoking, mobile phones, or electronic gadgets are prohibited. Results will be cancelled for multiple centre entries, possession of prohibited items, or examination malpractice, which may also lead to prosecution. Candidates must bring their original Admission Notice, provide valid email and phone numbers, and ensure all registration details are correct, as amendments will not be allowed after submission.

Walk Isn Candidates:

Candidates who wish to register for the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated as “Walk-in-Candidates” provided they register not less than twenty-four hours to the scheduled time of the paper(s) they intend to write. The “Walk-in-Candidate” fee is Forty-Five Thousand Naira (N45,000.00) only.

Method of Payments:

Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of Twenty-Seven Thousand Naira (₦27,000) only at branches of designated banks or any accredited agent to obtain the Registration PIN and information VCD.

Bank Payment: Access Bank, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank, FCMB, GTBank, Heritage Bank, Jaiz Bank, Polaris Bank, Stanbic IBTC, Standard Chartered, Sterling Bank, Union Bank, UBA, Unity Bank, WEMA Bank, and Zenith Bank.

Cashless/Online Channels: Remita (remita.net/waec), Paga, Palmpay, Paycom, SystemSpecs, Interswitch, Coralpay, Etranzact.

Registration Period: Normal registration for the 2026 first series ends January 27, 2026, with walk-in registration starting January 28, 2026.

Receipt: A valid registration PIN is received upon payment, which is required to access the official WAEC registration port

How to Register for WAEC GCE 2026/2027 (First Series)

  • Purchase PIN: Purchase the registration PIN from authorized banks, TripleG platform, or WAEC offices.
  • Online Registration: Log on to the WAEC registration portal to fill in the required details.
  • Biometric Capturing: Biometric features are required, which will be validated at the exam center.

Step 2: Register Online
Visit www.waeconline.org.ng, click on GCE Registration, enter your PIN and serial number, create an account, complete biometric validation, fill in personal details, select subjects and exam center, upload a digital passport photograph, submit, and print your admission notice.

Step 3: Complete Within Two Weeks
Registration must be completed within two weeks of accessing the portal with your PIN or the PIN may be forfeited.
