Hausa WAEC Syllabus PAPER 2:
This will be an essay test, which will also be in three sections: Sections A, B, and C. The rubrics shall be written in Hausa. The paper will take 2 hours and carry 100 marks.
Candidates will be required to answer six questions, as follows: three from Section A, two from Section B, and one from Section C.
Candidates will be required to answer questions in the official Hausa orthography using the appropriate metalanguage.

SECTION A: LANGUAGE (Rubutu da Nahawu)
Composition / Letter Writing (Insha’i)
Candidates will write an essay of about 300 words in 45 minutes.
Essay types include:
- Narrative (Labari)
- Descriptive (Siffance)
- Argumentative (Muhawara)
- Expository (Bayani)
- Dialogue (Zantawa)
- Proverb-based (Karin Magana)
- Letter Writing (Rubutun Wasika)
Sound System (Tsarin Sauti)
One question from two will be set.

- Consonants and vowels (bakake da wasula)
- Sound production (lebba, hanci, makogwaro etc.)
- Syllable structure:
- CV, CVV, CVC
- Types of syllables:
- Open (budaddiya)
- Closed (rufaffiya)
- Vowel length (gajeru, dogaye, tagwayen wasula)
- Tone:
- High, Low, Falling
Grammar (Nahawu)
One question from two will be set.
Topics include:
Word formation:
- Root (saiwa)
- Prefix (dafa goshi)
- Infix (dafa ciki)
- Suffix (dafa keya)
Word classes:
- Noun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb
- Pronoun, Conjunction
- Quantifier, Demonstrative, Ideophone, etc.

Traditional beliefs:

Occupations:
- Farming, weaving, dyeing, blacksmithing, trading, etc.
Traditional authority:
- Sarki, Hakimi, Dagaci, Mai Unguwa
Recreation:
- Dambe, Kokawa, and other games
