WAEC Technical Drawing Practical Specimen 2026/2027

The WAEC Technical Drawing Practical Specimen 2026/2027 (Paper 3) will focus on building/mechanical drawing and sketching, with a total duration of 2 hours 45 minutes. The exam consists of Section A (Sketches) and Section B (Building or Mechanical Drawing). Key focus areas include plane and solid geometry, orthographic projection, and assembly drawings.

WAEC Technical Drawing Examination Structure 2026/2027

The WAEC Technical Drawing examination consists of three distinct papers designed to assess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Paper 1 (Objective) is a multiple-choice section divided into two parts. Section A contains 30 questions covering general principles of plane and solid geometry, while Section B offers 10 questions from which candidates select based on their specialization: either building drawing or Mechanical Drawing. This paper lasts 1 hour and carries 40 marks.

Paper 2 (Essay) comprises five descriptive questions focusing on plane, solid, and vector geometry. Candidates are required to answer any three questions.

This section evaluates the ability to explain and apply geometrical concepts with clarity and accuracy. It has a duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes and is worth 60 marks.

Paper 3 (Practical) is the hands on component of the examination. It is divided into two sections: Section A contains three sketching questions, one of which is compulsory.

Section B offers a choice between Building Drawing and Mechanical Drawing tasks, from which candidates must answer two questions relevant to their chosen area. This paper tests the practical application of drawing techniques and lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes, carrying a total of 100 marks.
